Linux+ class week3
This week, I learned a lot about ACL from the CompTIA Network+ book, which really surprised me! And I completed all assignments and labs.
I found out the hard way that ACL was really useful for granting permissions where a user can't have all permissions. If I explain with an analogy, I could say, I have permission to get into the advisor's office, but I am not allowed to get into any other class room because I am not a student, which means i am not in any group. Another hallmark is that it was really hard to pass the lesson review exams. I couldn't get a minimum of 80% score on my first attempt, thus I returned to the beginning of the chapter and repeated all labs, read all sections, and did identical labs with different user names on my computer in order to better understand. I mostly passed review exams on my second attempt. Since there is no user manual for the CompTIA Book, I think everyone developed their own strategy for being successful. When I read second time, it helps learning because I read more carefully in order to pass the review exam. I recommend that other students read it one more time if they can't pass. The hardest lab was 3.3.7 Applied Lab because it doesn't show any hint by default, but the student can click the show hint button at the cost of a lower score. Following instructions on labs doesn't really very effective, which is pretty much like reading the CompTIA book. There are a lot of theories and a little bit of practice. That's why I got stuck on applied lab. My strategy was searching my notes, the PDF of the CompTIA book, and asking ChatGPT. There are similar examples of code. It worked; however, there is a time limitation to complete the lab, which is not enough, so I decided to write down my answers to the questions on the lab, and on my second attempt, it saved a lot of time.
I hope this blog is helpful to everyone who is looking for a strategy to be saucerful on Linux+ class.
